What did the temple in Jerusalem look like?


In next week's Gospel lesson(John 2:13-22) we read about how Jesus drove out the money changers from the temple in Jerusalem--the physical centre of Jewish culture and society in the 1st Century. One of the most impressive buildings ever made by humanity, we are today left with remnants of this incredible building. What did it look like back then?
